The Grounds
Space is not a concern at Zanzoo Retreat.
The extensive grounds, which total 14 acres (5 hectares), are littered with exotic trees, and boast 2 separate timber plantations numbering over 1000 trees, as well as a newly planted Mangosteen plantation.
The rainforest fringed Freshwater Creek is at your doorstep and flows through the full length of the property year round. It is home to a wide variety of native birds and animals, and if you are lucky you might see a Platypus or freshwater turtle navigating their way along the creek.
Our observation deck sits out over the water and is the perfect place to enjoy this beautiful setting and a cool drink at sunset.
Our beautifully landscaped, resort style swimming pool is heated allowing you to swim in comfort year round, even during the cooler days and nights of winter. Adjacent to the pool is the BBQ area - cook yourself a BBQ at the pool pergola and bask in the tranquil tropical setting.
The valley that Zanzoo sits within is a world heritage listed area with the renowned Crystal Cascades just 2.5km (an easy walk) back into the valley. Crystal Cascades National Park has a series of large freshwater pools interspersed with rushing rainforest streams and is a popular picnic and swimming spot for both visitors and locals, particularly during summer.
